The patient journey

Six steps, with clear checks along the way

Your route will depend on your needs and the provider’s response. Use these steps to know what to ask before you make a commitment.

STEP 01

Tell us what you need

Start with the treatment or condition you want help exploring, your country, and the questions you need answered.

  • Use the treatment enquiry form to share your contact details and, if you know them, a preferred city or hospital.
  • Add only the health information needed for your enquiry. You can submit without attaching reports.

Keep in mind: An enquiry is a request for information. It is not a diagnosis, appointment, or treatment booking.

STEP 02

Share relevant reports only if you choose

Reports can help a provider understand what you are asking about, but you decide whether to include them.

  • The treatment enquiry form accepts up to 3 PDF, JPG, or PNG files, up to 10 MB each and 25 MB combined.
  • Uploaded reports are stored privately. The enquiry email includes an internal file reference, not a public download link.

Keep in mind: Do not email medical records or include information that is not relevant to your request.

STEP 03

Clarify your questions and next steps

The VStake team receives your enquiry and can follow up using the contact details you provide.

  • Tell us what matters most: a second opinion, a treatment estimate, a specific hospital, or practical travel questions.
  • If anything is unclear or missing, the team may ask you to clarify before checking what information can be obtained.

Keep in mind: Submitting a form does not guarantee that a provider will respond or accept a case.

STEP 04

Request information from a provider

If you ask VStake to make an enquiry, relevant details may be used to request information from a potential hospital or specialist.

  • A provider decides whether it can review your case and what additional records or tests it needs.
  • Ask who will review your information and what will be shared before sending more sensitive details.

Keep in mind: Only the treating provider can assess clinical suitability, recommend treatment, confirm availability, or issue a final estimate.

STEP 05

Review the written plan before deciding

Take time to understand the proposed care, the provider, and the full costs before making a decision.

  • Confirm the doctor and facility, proposed treatment, appointment dates, tests, and any clinical assumptions directly with the provider.
  • Ask for a written estimate that lists inclusions, exclusions, currency, payment recipient, deposits, cancellation, and refund terms.

Keep in mind: Website information and early estimates are not a final quote or a promise of a treatment outcome.

STEP 06

Plan travel, treatment, and follow-up

Once you have provider information, coordinate travel details with the authorities and operators responsible for each service.

  • Check current visa requirements with the relevant official authority. Confirm flights, accommodation, transport, and any interpreter directly with the provider.
  • Before returning home, ask the treating team for discharge instructions, medicines, records, follow-up arrangements, and fitness-to-fly advice.

Keep in mind: A travel or support enquiry is not a confirmed booking. Get each provider’s written confirmation and terms before paying.

Areas to explore

What would you like help asking about?

Tell us which parts of the journey matter to you. Any service, provider response, fee, or booking must be checked for your specific case.

Hospital and specialist questions

Ask what information a provider needs to review your enquiry, who will assess it, and what clinical decisions only the provider can make.

Treatment-cost questions

Request a written estimate and check its assumptions, validity period, inclusions, exclusions, payment recipient, and possible additional costs.

Travel and local support

Ask whether help can be explored for visas, accommodation, transfers, or interpretation. Confirm availability, operator, price, and terms directly.

Before you commit

Get the important details in writing

Plans can change as more clinical information becomes available. Written confirmations help you understand what is known and what still needs to be decided.

  • Who is responsible for each part of the journey?
  • What is confirmed, and what is still only an estimate or request?
  • What is included, excluded, refundable, or subject to change?
  • Who should you contact if dates, symptoms, or travel plans change?

Start with a question

Make your next step an informed one

Share what you are looking for. You can ask about the options without committing to treatment or travel.
